Shish Kabobs

Need something quick? Grab 1-2 packages of stew meat and marinate. I love my metal skewers!

Ingredients

  • 1-2 lbs stew meat or sirloin, chopped into chunks

  • Zucchini

  • Mini bell peppers

  • 1 onion (or another favorite veggie)

Marinade

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Recipe

  1. If using wooden skewers, place them in water to soak for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.

  2. Place beef in a gallon-size Zip-loc bag.

  3. Mix all marinade ingredients together and pour over the beef in the bag. (Place the bag in a dish to catch any leaks.) Remove as much air as possible and seal. Refrigerate and marinate for 3-6 hours.

  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (450-500°F).

  5. Prepare vegetables by cutting them into 1 1/4 inch pieces. Spread them on a cutting board or pan, drizzle with oil, and sprinkle with salt and fresh ground pepper. Toss to evenly coat.

  6. Thread marinated steak and vegetables onto the skewers. Discard any leftover marinade.

  7. Grill kabobs for 3-4 minutes per side (all four sides) for medium-rare to medium doneness.
